Hi, here are first results of my latest setup.
Currently I am using the following components:
CPU: Intel Core-i7 920 2,66GHz D0 ES Mainboard: Asus Rampage II Extreme BIOS: 1204 Ram: 6GB Corsair XMS3 DominatorGT 1866MHz 7-8-7 (3x2GB) GPU: Asus Radeon X800Pro PSU: Corsair TX850W HDD: Maxtor DiamondMax 160GB SATA Optical: Samsung DVD-Drive Cooler: -100°C Blackbox Cascade OS: Windows Vista Ultimate SP1 untweaked
Core i7 920 D0@4,6GHz
Cinebench R10 x64@4,5GHz
Unfortunately the BCLK limit seems to be at ~220MHz so I can't get more than 4,6GHz at the moment. Although 4,6GHz are prime-able I am not satisfied because it looks like the processor has much more in it. Perhaps an EVGA X58 Classified could help me to break through the 220MHz BCLK limit and squeeze some more MHz out of the cpu. Nevertheless I am going for a second round with Rampage2Extreme+920 D0+Cascade this week. |

Today I planned some Cascade+Gigabyte EX58-UD5 action with my Core i7 920 D0, but just before I started the doorbell rang and the postman gave me a huge parcel. The parcel contained Asus' X58 flagship called "Rampage 2 Extreme". Obviously the Dominator GT memory sticks almost perfectly match the board's color scheme:
Expect some results with my -100°C "BlackBox" cascade this weekend, so stay tuned! |

Today I started testing the Core i7 920 step.D0 processor from Intel. I hadn't much time so I just set up Vista x64 and installed all necessary drivers. Likely more results will be online tomorrow night. Sub-Zero overclocking results using my dual-stage cascade can be expected end of this week.

Finally I received the brand new Intel Core i7 920 CPU with Intel's latest stepping: D0 At first Intel will produce just the i7 920 in D0 while other models have to wait. According to some rumours Intel is going to launch i7 950 and 975-XE with D0 step. later this year while first i7 920 D0 are expected to hit the shelves end of march/early april. Some eye-candy:
